Feel Like Yourself Again
When pain or stress takes its toll, even the simplest parts of life can feel more difficult. Massage Therapy offers an opportunity to ease muscle tension, calm the mind, and restore balance in the body. My goal is that you leave with a renewed sense of well-being and feeling like yourself again.
My Approach
Personalized
Every massage begins with listening. I want to understand what brought you in, how you're feeling, and what you hope to get from your session. Your needs and preferences guide a customized experience.
Collaborative
I bring my knowledge and experience, but you're the expert on how your body feels. I encourage you to share what you're experiencing so we can adjust the pressure, techniques, and focus of your massage throughout the session.
Hi, I’m Shannon Marie
When I was younger, I spent a lot of time striving for perfection—the perfect house, the perfect body, the perfect family. Somewhere along the way, I realized that in trying to make everything perfect, I was missing the joy of actually living. That realization changed the way I approached life. I began making more room for rest, more time for play, enjoying my family, and appreciating everyday moments instead of always working toward the next thing.
While raising my children and navigating some particularly stressful times, I experienced a few wonderful massages that left a lasting impression on me. Those experiences, along with my interest in natural health, inspired me to pursue massage therapy. During my training, I came to appreciate even more deeply the remarkable physical and mental relief that massage can provide.
Nearly 20 years later, I still love what I do. I'm endlessly curious about the human body and love that massage offers a lifetime of learning. My own experiences have shaped my belief that caring for ourselves shouldn't be something we put off until we're overwhelmed or finally have time. It's part of making the most of the lives we're living right now. I want my clients to experience that same sense of relief—to set aside life's demands for a little while and leave feeling more comfortable in their bodies, more at ease, and more like themselves again.
Outside the massage room, I love spending time with my family, gardening, creating outdoor spaces, exploring art, studying Spanish, birdwatching, and watching a good quirky movie. I enjoy learning new things and finding beauty in the everyday.
Why Dandelions?
Dandelions remind me of childhood—making wishes, letting go, and finding joy in simple things. To me, they represent reconnecting with who we've always been beneath the responsibilities and demands of everyday life.
Experience and Training
I've been a Licensed Massage Therapist for nearly two decades. I received my foundational Massage Therapy training at Blue Cliff Career College in Mobile, Alabama, and have continued expanding my knowledge and skills throughout my career.
My experience includes working with a wide range of clients such as expectant mothers, athletes, individuals living with chronic pain and/or neurological conditions, and those recovering from illness or surgery.
My continuing education includes prenatal massage, Thai massage, myofascial structural integration, reflexology, and hot stone massage. I am also certified in the Vodder method of Manual Lymphatic Drainage through Klose Training.
This diverse background allows me to draw from a variety of therapeutic techniques, combining focused bodywork with deeply relaxing approaches to meet each client's individual needs.
One of the things I love most about massage therapy is that there's always more to learn. Every continuing education course and client experience offers an opportunity to deepen my understanding of the human body and refine my skills.
